FARGO, N.D. —February 23, 2026 — Bushel, a leading provider of agricultural software and digital payment solutions, announced the launch of mobile check deposit, allowing farmers to deposit paper checks using their mobile phones, including high-value grain settlement checks.
“Between grain checks and other paper checks that come through the operation, there’s always something to deposit,” said Greg Sagedahl, Director of Fintech at Bushel, who also farms in North Central Minnesota. “Being able to simply take a picture and deposit a larger check from my phone saves time. And once it’s deposited, I can use that money for fuel or supplies instead of waiting for the paper check to be processed.”
Mobile Check Deposit is available through the Wallet feature in Bushel Farm and is part of the Bushel Business Account, offered by The Bancorp Bank, N.A., Member FDIC.* Deposited funds begin earning interest immediately—currently at a 2.75% interest rate¹—and are FDIC insured up to $5 million through a sweep program bank network². A linked debit card gives account holders faster access to those funds for purchases or payments, without needing to make a separate trip to the bank.
Farmers continue to receive much of their farm income by paper check, with 77% reporting they are still paid that way, according to Bushel’s 2025 State of the Farm Survey. Depositing those checks typically requires driving to a bank branch, waiting for the payments to be processed, or working around daily caps that limit the size of payments common in agriculture.
“Farm payments are still heavily paper-based, and the amounts are often much larger than what standard mobile deposit tools are built to handle,” said Tony Morosini, Chief Payments Officer, Bushel. “Our solution gives farmers a practical way to deposit checks and keep money moving.”
Once funds are deposited, farmers can access them using a Bushel Visa® Debit Card3 to cover everyday operating expenses such as fuel, general farm supplies, parts and other purchases. Farmers can also move money between linked external bank accounts, keeping farm finances organized in one place alongside operational tools.
